No Glamour Reading: Vowels
takes students through a progression of steps to master short,
long, r-controlled sounds, and vowel digraphs. For the younger
student, short vowels are developed in units. In the short a unit,
lessons progress to provide practice with at, an, am, ap, ab,
ag and ad. These lessons are followed by a review which incorporates
all short a word families. The other short vowel units follow
the same format.
Helen Zeitzoff's approach demonstrates how, with each lesson progression, the student is able to meet with success.
